About ‘The Odd Ode.’

This blog, ‘The Odd Ode,’ will contain a collection of my poetry.

The poems are all © of J S Haynes, but please feel free to use them as long as I am acknowledged. If you enjoy them a hit on the ‘like button’ or a vote on the Fuel My Blog widget, or better still a comment would be appreciated.

My poems, like my taste in poetry, tend to be simple and fairly traditional, often with lots of rhyme. I will try and post them at weekly intervals until the stock runs out and then as and when written.

Why here? Well put simply, they’re better here than left in my dusty notebooks where no one will see them. I have had a few published but the majority are just gathering virtual dust in the archives of my computer or littering the office in notebooks and on scraps of paper. Here, they are available to friends, family and to anyone else who cares to look in. Most of these have been written purely for my own pleasure so I will write a short introduction to each one to help put them in context. I hope they give some of you some pleasure. Jim
